California Vehicle Registration Information
Driver’s License Information:
You are required by California law to obtain a California Driver’s License within 16 days of establishing residence. It is recommended that you call your local DMV office to set up an appointment for testing, or you can walk in during normal business hours.

To Obtain A License You Must Complete The Following:
Written test on the rules of the road (Mandatory)
Eye test (Mandatory)
Driving test (only), if you do not have a valid license in an
other state or if your license has been revoked or has been expired for more than one year.
You Will Need To:
Complete an application for title or registration
Submit out of state registration certificate
Submit out of state title
Provide California Smog Certificate
Provide a mileage odometer certification
Bring you vehicle to a DMV office for vehicle ID verification
Pay the fees
Automobile Registration
If you are moving from out of state you must register your out of state vehicle upon entry. To avoid penalty you have 20 days to resolve this matter. The registration fees depend on the make and year of the car. In general, newer cars and more expensive cars will cost more to register. |
