Santa Clara County Animal Licensing

If you live in the unincorporated areas of Santa Clara County, both cats and dogs are required to be licensed. In order to license your pet, you will need:

  • A current rabies vaccination certificate from your veterinarian. (It must be valid for at least one year).
  • A spay/neuter certificate from your veterinarian. (This is optional-this will qualify you for reduced licensing rates.)
  • A copy of the County’s Animal License form.
